People believe what they see and hear because they don't want to try to believe in what they can't see. They are comfortable living their lives only dealing with what is going on in front of them. They don't want to step out of their boxes, or caves. They don't want to because they are afraid of what they might find.
There are two types of people in the world, the ones who can handle the truth and the ones who can't. The people who can't handle the real world live in their caves. In their caves their world is perfect. They don't have to worry about what other people are doing, they just have to worry about what they are doing. To come out of their caves means that they will have to actually have real feelings. To know the truth is a dangerous thing.
For the people who can handle the truth and accept the fact that there is something outside of just their cave, they can adjust better in life. They can stay in their cave if they want, but at some point people always have to come out of their cave. There is just a difference between reactions of when it happens.
I disagree with you in where you said that there are different types of people. Some people accept the truth more easily than others, but everyone is guilty of denying what is in front of us at some point in our lives.
ReplyDeleteYou say that they don't want to try to come out of their "caves", but what do you think about 'they can't'? I do think that fear is a huge factor that plays into it all, the overwhemling sensation of unstability that would be awaiting them once they stepped out could easily scare anyone.
